Kingston, a place to learn, progress and belong

Kingston Gymnastics Club is a community charity based in Kinning Park, Glasgow. We help children and young people grow in confidence, develop their abilities and feel a sense of belonging through safe, enjoyable and inclusive gymnastics.

Gymnastics for different ambitions

From first rolls and balances to team performances and competitions, we celebrate each gymnast’s progress. Our club brings together gymnasts, coaches, families and volunteers who share an enthusiasm for helping young people thrive.

Every gymnast’s journey is different. Some enjoy learning new skills and making friends in recreational classes. Others want to perform with our Display Team or develop towards competitive Acrobatic gymnastics.

We value each of these pathways. Our aim is to help young people find opportunities that suit their interests, abilities and ambitions, with encouragement to try new things and pride in what they achieve.

What matters to us

  • Enjoyment: helping young people discover the pleasure of being active.
  • Confidence: recognising effort, celebrating progress and encouraging achievable challenges.
  • Belonging: building a welcoming community where gymnasts feel included and connected.
  • Progression: supporting opportunities to learn, perform, compete and lead.
  • Care and respect: listening to young people and putting their wellbeing at the centre of club life.

Our Team

Our coaching and support team work together to make Kingston a positive place to train and develop. Coaches guide gymnasts through new skills, recognise their achievements and help them work towards appropriate goals.

Our staff also support the practical running of the club, keeping families informed and helping sessions, events and membership arrangements run smoothly.

Young Leaders and Coach Development

Gymnastics can open doors beyond participation. Our young leader programme gives older gymnasts opportunities to support younger members, build confidence and develop communication and leadership skills alongside experienced coaches.

For those interested in coaching, this experience can provide a foundation for further training and qualifications. We also value the continuing development of our coaching team, helping them build their knowledge and support gymnast progression.

Paid coaching opportunities may become available depending on qualifications, experience and the needs of the club.

Our Trustees

Our volunteer Board of Trustees oversees the charity’s direction, finances and governance, working with staff and coaches to support a sustainable future for Kingston.

The Board brings together people with different experiences and skills, including parents and carers with a direct connection to the club. Trustees help ensure that decisions reflect our charitable purpose and the interests of our gymnasts.

Help shape your community club

Kingston depends on the enthusiasm and support of volunteers. Whether you can spare an occasional hour or would like a regular role, we would welcome your help.

You could support events and fundraising, help with communications, approach local sponsors, assist with practical improvements or contribute your experience as a trustee. You do not need a gymnastics background—organisational skills, fresh ideas and a willingness to get involved are all valuable.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to meet other families, contribute to club life and help create opportunities for our gymnasts. We will discuss suitable tasks, support and any checks or training needed for the role.

To find out more, speak to a trustee or email info@kingstongymnastics.org, telling us what interests you and how much time you could offer.

Part of a wider community

Based in Kinning Park, Kingston Gymnastics Club brings children, young people and families together from across Glasgow’s Southside. Through gymnastics, we help young people stay active, build friendships and grow in confidence, creating connections that extend beyond the gym.

As a registered charity, we rely on membership income, volunteers, fundraising and local partnerships to maintain equipment, develop our programmes and create opportunities for young people.

We also contribute to local schools and community programmes, extending the benefits of gymnastics beyond our regular classes. We welcome partnerships with schools, community organisations and businesses that share our commitment to helping young people thrive.

As a full member club of Scottish Gymnastics, Kingston belongs to a wider sporting community. Through training, performances and competitions, our gymnasts and coaches develop their skills, share experiences and build friendships with clubs across Scotland and beyond.
